For many shoppers, every trip means decoding endless labels and tiny print just to avoid unwanted ingredients. We're on a mission to change that—transforming shopping into a breezy, hassle-free adventure.

🛒 What it does

No more label reading—just drop items in your basket. If something doesn’t match your taste, ShopWise lets you know and offers a better pick right on your smartphone.

⚙️ How we built it

The customer will have a dedicated app to set dietary restrictions/unwanted ingredients. Thus, a "forbidden ingredient" blacklist is created. The detection of the product is via RFID technology, and each shopping basket is equipped with detectors and an Arduino board which sends out the product information to an MQTT server. The product data and ingredients are then cross-checked with the blacklist to ensure the item is allowed. Otherwise, an alert pops up on the consumer's phone along with a tailored alternative. This alternative will rely on AI to know the customer's preferences and similar profiles' purchasing habits.
