Inspiration

Many students and job seekers do not know exactly why they are not getting shortlisted or what to improve first. We wanted to build a single Al-powered platform that turns career preparation into a clear, measurable path.

How We Built It

We built Smart Career Al using React, TanStack Start, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and Al server functions. The platform includes resume analysis, skill gap detection, roadmap generation, interview preparation, and an Al career mentor. We also added a Career Readiness Score that combines outputs from different features into one progress view.

Challenges We Ran Into

The biggest challenge was connecting multiple career tools into one meaningful workflow instead of making them feel like separate features. We also had to handle resume text extraction, structured Al responses, clean Ul states, and reliable scoring in a way that feels useful to real users.

Accomplishments That We're Proud Of

We are proud that the project feels like a complete career operating system, not just a chatbot. The Career Readiness Score, personalized roadmap, resume feedback, and interview prep work together to guide users toward job readiness step by step.

What We Learned

We learned how important product flow is in an Al project. Good Al output is not enough: the user needs structure, priorities, and clear next actions. We also learned how to design Al features that feel practical, focused, and demo-ready for real career preparation.
