Inspiration

As a student, managing assignments, deadlines, and daily study tasks becomes difficult. Many times tasks are forgotten or left incomplete because there is no simple and smart assistant to guide our day. I wanted to create something that helps students stay organized, reduce stress, and complete their tasks faster.

That’s how SmartAssist was born — an AI-powered productivity helper for students.

What it does

SmartAssist helps students:

*Organize their daily tasks *Set smart reminders *Prioritize work using AI suggestions *Summarize notes or topics *Track productivity through a clean dashboard

*It’s a simple tool that makes student life easier and more productive.

How we built it

*Built using Atlassian Forge *Used Forge UI Kit to create a clean interface *Added AI features using Forge AI APIs *Tasks, reminders, and progress tracking were made with simple JavaScript logic *Designed the UI screens using Canva

*Uploaded code to GitHub and connected it through the “Try it out” link

Challenges we ran into

*Understanding Forge for the first time *Connecting AI API with the UI *Designing a clean dashboard *Making the app beginner-friendly

*Every challenge helped improve the final project.

Accomplishments

*Built a working AI-powered student assistant *Designed a clean and minimal UI *Learned how to use Forge and AI APIs

*Completed the entire project as a solo beginner participant

What we learned

*How to use Atlassian Forge *How to integrate AI into apps *How to manage a project end-to-end

*How to create UI & write clean descriptions for hackathons

What's next for SmartAssist

*Adding more AI-powered study tools *Creating a Pomodoro timer *Adding voice-based task creation *Adding collaboration features for group study
