Inspiration

While talking to local shopkeepers, we realized many still rely on manual methods for managing inventory, billing, and tracking sales. With large platforms like Blinkit entering the scene, these small businesses risk falling behind. We wanted to build a simple, AI-powered tool to empower them with digital capabilities—without needing technical skills or expensive systems.

What it does

SmartSahaayak is an AI-driven assistant for local shopkeepers that:

Tracks inventory and sales in real-time
Generates bills instantly
Sends restock and payment reminders via WhatsApp
Supports local languages for easy adoption
Offers simple analytics to understand sales trends

How we built it

We built SmartSahaayak using Bolt AI, a no-code/low-code platform that helped us rapidly develop and deploy our idea. We used:

Bolt AI’s visual app builder to create the interface and workflows
Bolt’s backend integrations for logic, database handling, and state management
WhatsApp API integration for sending smart reminders
Local language support modules and Bolt’s AI blocks for intelligent message generation
Payment gateway integration to handle premium subscription access before unlocking advanced features like analytics
Deployment tools in Bolt for instant live preview and final release

Challenges we ran into

Customizing UI components inside Bolt’s layout system while keeping responsiveness
Managing user state across features like billing, stock updates, and analytics
Implementing dynamic language switching for local language support
Integrating WhatsApp in a seamless, timely way within the hackathon window
