Inspiration
Water is one of the most important resources on Earth, yet a large amount of water is wasted every day through unnecessary usage and undetected leaks. We wanted to explore how smart technology could help people understand their water consumption and reduce waste.
What it does
Smart Water Conservation is a smart water management concept designed to monitor water usage, detect possible leaks, and encourage users to save water. The project includes a smart faucet, a smart shower handle, and a mobile application for monitoring daily, weekly, and monthly water consumption. It also includes water-saving tips and alerts for possible leaks.
How we built it
We developed the project concept and created a presentation to explain the problem, proposed solution, system features, and future development. The project combines ideas from IoT, smart sensors, mobile applications, AI, and sustainable technology. The planned system can use an ESP32 and water-flow sensors to collect usage data and send it to the application.
Challenges we ran into
One of our main challenges was combining several technologies into one practical and affordable solution. We also had to organize many ideas and features into a clear concept that could be easily understood and presented.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of creating a complete concept for a smart water conservation system that connects water monitoring, leak detection, smart devices, and a mobile application. We also created a presentation that explains the problem, solution, system components, and future possibilities.
What we learned
Through this project, we learned how technology and sustainability can work together to address real-world environmental challenges. We also improved our research, presentation, teamwork, and project-planning skills.
What's next for Smart Water Conservation
Our next step is to turn the concept into a working prototype by connecting an ESP32 with water-flow sensors and developing the complete mobile application. We also plan to explore AI-based water consumption prediction, smarter leak detection, cloud connectivity, and additional sustainable features.
