Inspiration
The inspiration for this project originated from our professor, who guided us in recognizing the significance of addressing challenges faced by visually impaired individuals. With 40 million people seeking independence, we embarked on a journey to create a solution that could empower them.
What it does
Our innovative project aims to provide visually impaired individuals with newfound independence. The device features a Voice Bot for on-demand information, an object detection system to identify hazards, and basic functionalities like time checking. By solving this problem, we envision a world where the visually impaired can navigate the world with freedom.
How we built it
We conducted extensive research on technologies suitable for solving this challenge and sought valuable guidance from our professors. The process involved exploring depth detection in images and implementing secure messaging within our prototype.
Challenges we ran into
One of the main challenges was determining image depth and ensuring reliable messaging capabilities in our prototype. Overcoming these hurdles required trying multiple methods
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We take pride in solving fundamental issues, such as messaging and information extraction. Our progress in this hackathon motivates us to enhance the user-friendliness and advanced features of our solution.
What we learned
Through this project, we learned the importance of focusing on areas for improvement, both in technology and user experience. Identifying these aspects will guide us in making our solution more effective.
What's next for Smart visual assistent
Our next step involves building a complete working prototype, advancing its capabilities, and ensuring it becomes an indispensable tool for the visually impaired, promoting independence and accessibility.
