There is huge rise in transport sector so there needs to be a proper guiding system.
- To make the transport sector to work better.
- To avoid late ambulance service due to traffic caused by traffic signal.
- To detect accident or block in road due to damage in roads.
We need to develop an effective traffic signal.
We found ourselves contemplating the situation as we encountered a traffic jam near the intersection adjacent to our college.
This project centers around the enhancement of traffic signals using AI technology. Each side of the traffic signal is equipped with a camera. These cameras monitor the absence of vehicles in the other three directions. When the other sides are clear, the signal will display a red light for those directions and allow the green signal for the current direction. If all sides have traffic, the system functions like a typical traffic signal, but without a fixed timer. Instead, it uses data captured from all sides to prioritize vehicles that have been waiting for an extended period.
We have used python language and pyjama to build the demo model.
Challenges we ran into were like lack of datasets and lack of media.
What we learned about a smart traffic controller is that it uses cameras and artificial intelligence to make traffic flow better. It can change the traffic lights based on how many cars are there. This helps reduce traffic jams and make our roads safer.
