Smart Track and Trace

Inspiration

The pain points for the Air cargo industry is: The Air Cargo world is complex with various stakeholders crossing different platform and with slow digitalization progress. It is important to have an integrated digital platform supporting end-to-end process beginning from Quote to Track. It should be in shared standard with open interface.

What it does

Our Smart Track and Trace platform starting the flow from booking. User can link their IoT device number during their booking, and once the shipment is confirmed and shipped, it can be track real-time with the sensor data read from the IoT devices. The IoT devices location also enable with the Geofencing function, once the IoT device reached the location of the shipment routing point, it will automatically triggered the pre-programmed milestone for this shipment with zero manual inference. The smart tracking platform also featured with AI time prediction. Whenever a new shipment is registered with booking status received in the platform, the system will call our machine learning API for the milestone event time that is not happened yet.

How we built it

We user HTML, Javascript, JSON, RESTful API, Postman API mocking, Kong API gateway, GitHub Pages, AWS SageMaker to build this solution.

Challenges we ran into

To interface with multiple API in various data format in short time To locate the real-time data for visualize of shipment in progress and use this case for shipment milestones prediction. To merge the multi-modal data into single platform

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud solve several challenge during this competition, including to connect the QR, LH, DCSA API and to visualize the data on our track and trace platform. To interface our AWS ML API by LH in progress shipment data and to predict its future shipment status.

What we learned

We have learned through tackling the issues on how to interface multiple API in limited time.

What's next for Smart Track and Trace

For next step, we wish to Continue enhance our OneRecord API to open for easy plug-in usage; To improve the multi-modal tacking to support the transportation by truck and train other than air; To integrate and digitalize the end-to-end shipment process from quote to book to track.
