Inspiration
We created a very simple example of migrating data from flat files and relational databases into TigerGraph and demonstrated how to interface within our application. We believe that this is the single biggest next leap toward empowering the world via TigerGraph. What you’ll find seems extremely simple, but, the complexity was in making it that simple and robust under the covers.
What it does
We need a simple data delivery flow for weekly commodity pricing and a structure to influence the product organization to match the industry standard. There isn’t currently a great way to receive this data and integrate directly into our normal sales flow.
• We think of this like taking a road trip in 1955 from LA to New York.
• Many windy roads and blockers along the path.
• Not to mention the cost of gas, the scheduled sleeping arrangements, the food requirements, and on and on.
• And if you wanted to get to Hawaii or the Caribbean, forget it… not because it was too far away, but because you simply couldn’t pave that path without switching to a boat.
• Then came the interstates. That simplified the problem by creating straight paths with increased speed, but…still not great.
• They needed an airplane, then iterate and refine, etc.
The Solution: Provide a simple to use Desktop / Mobile Web based solution that allows detailed analysis on the desktop and simple usage on the mobile. And use TigerGraph to provide rich data access in a scalable fashion.
How I built it
Using all modern technologies, we implemented a simple import / export module to build out a product hierarchy. This is described in depth in our submission document - TigerGraph Graphathon - Product Management - 20200904
Challenges I ran into
Our only challenges we ran into are around timing and scheduling.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Very robust operation - made simple
What I learned
TigerGraph API interfaces
What's next for Smart - Tiger - Data Migration And Usage
We would like to work toward making this a robust offering and much more graph usage.
