We were inspired by a simple problem with traditional heating systems: most thermostats react only after the indoor temperature has already changed. We wanted to explore whether a heating controller could be more proactive by using upcoming weather conditions, not just the current room temperature. For example, if a significant temperature drop is expected in the next few hours, the system could slightly adjust the heating in advance instead of waiting for the building to become cold. Our goal was to build a solution that is affordable, customizable, and practical using commonly available hardware.
