Inspiration We wanted to help users make smarter shopping choices that are both budget-friendly and eco-conscious, addressing the growing demand for sustainable consumption.
What it does EcoCart suggests greener and more affordable product alternatives based on user input, comparing items by price, durability, and environmental impact.
How we built it We used a simple tech stack with frontend tools and product/sustainability APIs to fetch, compare, and recommend products in real-time.
Challenges we ran into Finding reliable eco-impact data and designing an intuitive interface that balances usability with detailed comparisons.
Accomplishments that we're proud of Creating a clean, working prototype that turns sustainability into a simple shopping habit.
What we learned How to integrate external APIs, structure recommendations, and design with both users and the planet in mind.
What's next for Smart Sustainable Shopping Assistant We plan to expand product coverage, refine recommendation accuracy, and launch a browser extension for real-time suggestions while shopping online.
