Inspiration
With the increasing concerns about women's safety, our team felt motivated to create a self-defense project designed to help protect women. We wanted to develop a device that can be easily carried and activated in emergencies.
What it does
This device is equipped to provide instant assistance by sending alerts to pre-set contacts through GPS location and activating an electric shock module as a self-defense mechanism. The device is designed to be compact, reliable, and effective in emergencies.
How we built it
To bring this project to life, we used components such as the ESP32, SIM800L module, a GPS module, a battery, and an electric shock module. Each component serves a specific purpose in enabling the device to communicate, locate, and provide defense capabilities. Through careful planning and collaboration, we integrated these components and worked on the code for seamless performance.
Challenges we ran into
One of the toughest challenges we faced was managing the code and hardware, particularly in serial communication. Ensuring that each module communicated effectively with others and handled data smoothly required a lot of troubleshooting and patience.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Our accomplishments stemmed from teamwork and the support of AI tools, which helped us overcome technical difficulties. Each team member contributed valuable insights and skills, enabling us to reach our goal.
What we learned
This project taught us a lot about electronics components and modules, especially in serial communication. We gained practical experience and a deeper understanding of how these elements function in real-world applications.
What's next for Smart Self Defensive Portable Security Device
Our next step is to make the device even more advanced by adding extra features to enhance its effectiveness and usability. We aim to continue improving this project to ensure better safety for women everywhere.
