Inspiration
In my Latin class, I would always have these 60 word vocab quizzes on Mondays but I always forget about the until that morning in study hall and would usually do very poorly on them. This app reminds me a day in advance in order to remind me of what is day least one day in advance.
What it does
It gives you push notifications and alerts you when an assignment is due at least one day in advance. It is also integrated with google drive API and allows you to save images related to the assignments that are due.
How I built it
I built it using Android Studio and Google Cloud Consul. The programming languages I used to accomplish this are java and xml.
Challenges I ran into
One of the biggest challenges I ran into was integrating my app with google drive. It was really difficult since the syntax to do so was very foreign to me so it took a lot of documentation and a lot of stack overflow to be able to finally be able to upload an image to google drive.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I am very proud that I was able to finish my app and make it somewhat functioning within the 12-hour allotted time. This took a lot of concentration since there was basically no time to squander.
What I learned
I learned how to use the Google Drive API and to use many other APIs that google provides us.
What's next for hackPHS
I want to fully develop it and make sure it integrates with a few more APIs.
