Inspiration
Smart savers was build for those users who plan their goals and save towards it. Simple concept. Unlike other budget apps this one is only focused on goals and saving towards it.
What it does
App asks you what is your goal. Say you want to buy Mac mini, you create a goal set an amount and the deadline. And then you log the amount you saved towards it. You track the reports weekly, monthly and even export those reports to keep tab of your progress.
How we built it
I used Bolt to turn my PRD and the prompt into Expo project which allows the creation of this app. Thanks to PRD and Bolt, just one shot into the beautiful app. At the time of the exporting to the android abb bundler I had to use tools outside bolt to convert the project for Google Play Store.
Challenges we ran into
Challenges were mostly specific to the features. More you add feature more vibe coding gets difficult to stay consistent and deliver the results. So I had to cut down a lot of features and then focus only on the essentials.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I already had enough experience with the vibe coding. However building a good UI and better Expo apps without much initial resistance was someone I am proud of. If you start with cursor you'd meet endless issues unless you have PRD. However bolt one shot the app using PRD into production level output.
What we learned
Budgeting niche is very lucrative. Though how much premium app would fetch out of this experiment is something I want to learn this time. I have to learn if the vibe coding apps can be making money as I assume they do. Most of the time good ideas turns into profit. This idea is very niche into fintech so I am going to wait and see how it turns out.
What's next for Smart Savers Club
I am going to keep updating and keep improving the app in upcoming years.
