Inspiration

University students often struggle to find the right study partners, project teammates, mentors, and opportunities on campus. Many students feel disconnected even while being surrounded by thousands of others. Existing platforms focus either on academics or communication, but very few truly help students build meaningful academic and social connections.

We wanted to create a platform that combines AI, collaboration, and campus networking into one unified experience. This inspired us to build SmartLinkUp — an AI-powered student connection platform designed to help students collaborate, grow, and succeed together.

What it does

SmartLinkUp is a student collaboration and networking platform that helps university students:

Find study partners and project teammates Join hackathon and startup groups Discover events and workshops Connect with mentors and communities Find available study rooms and campus spaces Communicate through real-time chats Receive AI-powered recommendations based on interests and skills

The platform creates a smarter and more connected university ecosystem.

How we built it

We built SmartLinkUp using modern web technologies focused on scalability, responsiveness, and user experience.

We focused heavily on clean UI/UX and intuitive navigation to make the platform easy and engaging for students.

Challenges we ran into

One major challenge was designing a platform that combines multiple systems — networking, collaboration, AI recommendations, and campus tools — without making the user experience confusing.
