I often miss my reminders based on time as I might be busy at the time or just sleeping but if I have an event based smart reminder system to tell my to-do list say before leaving for office.
User can set an event based reminder like "Alexa! remind me to turn off the gas regulator before leaving for office.". Then I can query Alexa What task I have to do before leaving for office. Another example "Alexa! Remind me to take the dish out of owen after my friend arrives" and alexa can remind me that when the event happens and not based on time.
I am using aws for this purpose

Next for Smart Remainders is the integration with calender and we can use event and time to create a brilliant AI assistant.
