Inspiration

Conventional farming uses a lot of water, fertilizer, and labor, which results in inefficiencies, crop loss, and environmental damage. Precision farming is not available to small-scale farmers because to their lack of real-time information on weather, irrigation system setup, and soil health. We made this project with a vision to create a multi-modal AI-driven system that gave farmers access to real-time analytics, automation, and data-driven decision-making for effective and sustainable agriculture, motivated by the possibilities of AI, IoT, and blockchain.

What It Does

Our Multi-Modal AI Precision Farming System incorporates:

  • AI-powered drones (ResNet50, YOLOv8) to assess soil conditions, crop health, and irrigation leaks.
  • Real-time environmental, temperature, and soil moisture monitoring using IoT-enabled ground stations.
  • Machine learning models for predictive analytics, anomaly detection, and actionable insights.
  • Blockchain integration enables smart contract automation, tamper-proof transactions, and safe agricultural data storage.
  • Specially designed user experience and AI assistant that provides farmers with interactive insights and real-time advice.

How We Built It

  • AI & Machine Learning: Implemented Computer vision models (YOLOv8, ResNet50) for crop and soil analysis, Ollama with Llama 3.2 vision for chatbot integration
  • IoT Sensors: Integrated Arduino Uno R4 WiFi with soil moisture, pH, and temperature sensors.
  • Blockchain: Used Ethereum-based decentralized storage to ensure secure and transparent farm data records.
  • Software Stack: Developed an interactive UI using ReactJS for web application and Flutter for mobile application for real-time visualization and farmer-friendly decision support.

Challenges We Ran Into

  • Data Collection & Processing: Managing massive amounts of real-time sensor data while guaranteeing AI analysis with minimal delay.
  • Hardware Integration: Coordinating cloud-based AI models, IoT devices, and drones for smooth operation.
  • Blockchain Implementation: Guaranteeing effective smart contract execution for automation, real-time pricing, and alerts.
