Smart Pet Feeder
We have all had friends who had struggles finding a pet-sitter and paying them a lot of money so that they could go on a vacation for a few days.
What it does and How we built it
Our project has a dispenser that dispenses pet food in regular intervals of time. We used a servo moter to rotate the flaps We have a weight sensor on the plate and we dispense more food if there is no food on the plate and if the interval has been completed. It makes use of an ultrasonic sensor to measure the depth of the food and if running low, notifies the owner by email. We also have a camera that broadcasts the video on a webserver so owners can look at their pets.
Challenges we ran into
We had a difficulty choosing which motor to use. Mechanical difficulties, MQTT publish and receive

we'll add more security in camera, add a microphone and a speaker
