Triggering the currently present Smoke detectors while cooking.
What it does
Uses sensors to identify whether the AQI of the kitchen has depleted, whether there's a possibility of a fire present and then uses image processing and recognition with a machine learning algorithm to identify the flames and send alert emails when there's a fire present.
How we built it
We used multiple sensors on our hardware, built a machine learning model from the scratch,
Challenges we ran into
A couple of sensors failed, one of the Raspberry Pi crashed, hardware had slight issues.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Building a successful Machine Learning model from scratch, implementing multiple sensors and establishing proper connection between all the hardware present
What we learned
Teamwork, time management, resiliency and that hardware sometimes fails terribly.
What's next for Smart Kitchen Smoke Detection
Making a cheap and reliable product and keeping fail-safe options for everything.
