Inspiration
I needed the ability to control home appliances with an IR remote control when I am away from home
What it does
This device can control lighting, TV and air conditioning from a smartphone via the Internet.
How we built it
I created a device based on the ESP8266 board and an Android application.
Challenges we ran into
It was necessary to create and configure project in a Firebase platform for sending commands and identifying users.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I was able to configure remotes through the Web interface.
What we learned
I improved my skills in working with the Firebase platform, app design and Kotlin programming.
What's next for Smart IR Remote
Ability to add remotes of other devices in the application.
