Inspiration
The patient is the focus of any mental health improvement program. How can we ensure continuous improvement without ensuring continuous engagement? What can we do between sessions to improve the
Is the current frequency of visits enough to be impactful? The current Measurement-based care (MBC) involves a self-reporting scale, usually while waiting to see a physician. This is inherently limited by its dependence on the patients accurate memory about the time since the previous visit and correct attribution of ambiguous symptoms.
Do users see the VALUE of coming to the next meeting when we treat the situation like having a self-driving car check if it’s in the lane once every mile?
We say that the time between meetings is a lost chance for change.
We propose to use the time between visits for automated user interaction on targeted SMART goals through an app to make the next visit more productive, more impactfully, and to better inform the quality improvement efforts.
What it does
These inter-visit goals are specific items related to the patient’s overall long term SMART goals. We are to collect between-session data to increase engagement and motivation of patients and informing treatment planning. The ultimate goal is to increase adherence to treatment, ensure treatment efficacy, and improve general life functioning in the long run.
How we built it
We built a mockup for web platform used by clinicians and a mobile up for a clinician.
