Smart Humidor

Inspiration

Cigar connoisseurs know the issue: bad humidity and the wrong temperature can destroy the sensitive flavours of their favourite leafs. We want to provide smart alerts, only if the temperature is out of the optimum range!

What it does

With Smart Humidor we want to provide smart alerts, only if the temperature is out of the optimum range! Cigar lovers can fully trust the small module, fitting into any size of humidor to inform them only if it is needed.

How I built it

UPDATE 13.10.2016 DHT22+RPI3 working stable to measure temp/humidity for any use ready Design concept for nodeMCU/ESP8266 in development

UPDATE 20.10.2016 ESP8266 12-E from China-Dealer has arrived, but chip is broken

UPDATE 02.11.2016 nodeMCU firmware is running stable on (new) ESP8266 12-E/nodeMCU Dev Kit lua script measuring humidity/temperature is running highly instable mqtt client is running highly instable

User platform is being built/concept is being developped (App - to set up a connection from MQTT client (sensor) to an MQTT broker and to predefine temperature/humidity threshold depending on cigar type)

UPCOMING flashing of single ESP8266 12-E board with firmware/scripts and soldering of components production of 3D-printed cigar case for sensor/chip/bat
