Inspiration
Traditional grocery lists don't have easy access to your personal budget and the items that are currently in your pantry.
What it does
To solve this, we built a smart grocery list app that does more than just list your items. With our app, you can add items to your grocery list with categories, quantities, and prices. Additionally, it will track your total budget in real-time as you add items and check off items during shopping, and as you do, the app automatically updates your pantry inventory. When you're done, you’ll know exactly what you’ve bought and what’s still at home—saving you time, money, and effort.
How we built it
We built the project by using javascript, HTML, and CSS.
Challenges we ran into
The problems that we ran into were the user input not updating on our app, small syntax errors that we missed along the way, and logic errors while building our app. The main logic error that we ran into was the adding the user's input into our grocery list function since it incorporated complex coding skills.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that we were able to create a working final project that incorporated user inputs into a website. Although we had doubts that we would finish, we were able to work together as a team to problem solve, create, and learn new ways to finish the final project.
What we learned
We learned programming skills such as integrating user functionality while using javascript, html, and CSS. Additionally, we learned how to cooperate as a team and build ideas off of one another.
What's next for Smart Grocery List
Making a more user friendly app that will make it easier to read and ensure that the shopper has logged everything that is in their pantry
