Inspiration

GateGroup prepares thousands of catering trolleys for airlines every day. Weather changes and flight delays often cause mistakes and food waste. Smart Gate helps employees make better, faster decisions using data and automation.

What it does

Smart Gate is an AI-powered system that improves airline catering logistics. Main features:

Flight reliability prediction — calculates risk based on weather and schedule.

Bottle level detection (simulated) — decides when to reuse or discard.

Trolley layout check — compares photos with the correct setup.

Automatic meal reassignment — moves food from canceled flights to others of the same airline.

Employee dashboard — tracks efficiency and errors visually.

How we built it

Frontend: React + TailwindCSS

Backend: FastAPI (Python)

Database: SQLite

AI simulation: YOLOv8 + SSIM Runs fully offline for easy demos and reliability.
