Smart Employment System (SES)

Inspiration

The increasing unemployment leads to low GDP growth, low Economic growth, and also it affects society on a deeper level. The inspiration for the project came from one of my friends who needed a Data recovery from his broken hard disk. The data recovery is not available anywhere near but Delhi, so he had to travel to Delhi just for a simple Data recovery for his hard disk. Later on, he came to know that someone in his neighborhood had the required skill set. This particular scenario triggered the idea for the project that if a Platform like SES was available, he could have saved his time and the skilled person in the neighborhood could have earned some money out of it.

What it does

The idea of having all kinds of services in all the remote regions of the country is the main theme of the project. Services not only technical but also non-technical. It decreases the gap between the customer and the skilled person by depleting the communication gap between the two. It consists of three modules namely- Get a Service, Provide a Service, and also Learn a Skillset. --Get a Service -- A customer gets access to all the services he can avail in his region by searching in the module. --Provide a Service -- A skilled person can register here under his/her skill set and will be available for the customers to recruit him/her for the particular work. --Learn a Skillset -- As the main motive is to get rid of the unemployment, the skilled person can register here, and choose from the available skills or lessons from the experienced person.

We have also included the rating system for the customer to rate the smart employee for his particular work, and hence algorithm behind the program chooses the smart employee with better ratings for more tasks, and also this competition gives motivation to the smart employee to work more professionally, and hence better services are provided.

Also industrial recruiters and hire potential smart employees through SES having good skillset required for real-world problem-solving.

How we built it

We used the latest technology to build iOS/Android apps i.e. Thunkable, and also real-time online database i.e. firebase is used in the SES.

Challenges we ran into

We were totally unfamiliar with the technology, yet took the risk of making it with thunkable and firebase because hackathons are more about innovation. Using the new technology and connecting the project with the realtime DB i.e. firebase was a challenge. Also, designing the UI was hard for us, yet we did it.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We built the app, learned the new technology, and implemented our idea prototype in just 24 hours.

What we learned

We learned the new technology, and as it was our first hackathon, so we learned a lot about the hackathons.

What's next for Smart Employment System (SES)

Implementing the larger databases to the app, and improving the UI, making it more dynamic, and adding some more algorithms & some sort of machine learning or application of data science to improve efficiency & accuracy of our app to get better results
