Smart Door Opening System

Inspiration

In this time of pandemic, the lesser the contact the better, and yet one has to keep going out for groceries or open the door for deliveries.This hack is sipposed to prevent people from having to use keys, or having to touch the door lock or even having to go near it to unlock it.

What it does

It is a raspberry pi + telegram controlled bot that unlocks the door when the user asks it to.

How I built it

I built it using Raspberry pi 4, Telegram and servo motors

Challenges I ran into

Integrating various services is not always an easy thing to do.But it was bottomline fun to keep getting around whatever came up.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I am proud that I was able to integrate everything especially the hardware without all the proper tools.

What I learned

I learned how to automate and use the raspberru pi gpio pins remotely. I have only used mqtt before.

What's next for Smart Door Opening System

I hope to add a UV sanitising unit in case it is delivery.
