Inspiration
They say pandemics come every century, but other bacteria and viruses have always been prevalent in our society.
What it does
Smart Door Handle is a self-sanitizing door handle with the use of a UV light system. It consists of four UV LEDs on each side of the handle to completely terminate the germs and bacteria. This simple invention can make one of the dirtiest things to the cleanest in little cost. In addition, it will significantly reduce the number of germs and bacteria sticking to door handling surfaces.
How we built it
First, we designed the door handle to 3D print. After completing the design, and waiting for the model to be printed, we worked on the code of the project. At last, we assembled the door handle and the arduino together.
Challenges we ran into
Our prepared project for this event was an advanced blind’s person walking stick. After doing research, we saw that the project has been completed before. My group and I wanted to come up with a project that is unique and beneficial to every day’s lives. With this invention, it can be used instantly in today’s world and decrease the number of bacteria and virus sticking on door handles.
