Inspiration
India faces frequent disasters, but data is scattered and slow. We wanted a unified, AI-powered system for real-time disaster awareness and prediction.
What it does
Smart Disaster Management Index monitors temperature, river discharge, and seismic activity across Indian states. It classifies regions into Normal, Medium Risk, and Critical Alert, and uses Gemini AI to generate intelligent risk insights and safety suggestions.
How we built it
Built with React + TypeScript (Vite), integrated environmental APIs, visualized live trends with charts, and used Gemini API for multi-parameter risk analysis.
Challenges
Real-time API reliability, defining accurate risk thresholds, and synchronizing live data with AI analysis.
Accomplishments
Created a multi-disaster AI dashboard with interactive state-wise monitoring and scalable architecture.
What we learned
AI becomes powerful when combined with structured real-time data and clear visualization.
What's next
Add tsunami prediction, evacuation mapping, real alerts, and satellite integration.
