Inspiration

We saw a great population of IU students struggling with course selection despite assistance from their advisors, so we wanted to address this ubiquitous problem aroound campus and aid students.

What it does

Our AI Course Selector Chatbot allows students to input data about their desired career path role along with past courses they have taken and credits. With that being said, students can then choose courses that align with their preferences to balance their schedule more efficiently.

How we built it

We used python to create the data part. We used a list of dictionaries to organize classes. We then used streamlit for the display. We used AI to help us learn how to use streamlit and modify our code so that it works with the display

Challenges we ran into

We ran into the challenge of making it user friendly. That is where we used AI to help us learn streamlit in order for it to work and look good.

We are proud of our teamwork and communication.

We learned how to use streamlit and comunicate clearly in stressful situations.

What's next for Smart Course Selector AI Agent

If time allowed we would add more classes, add professors, add grade distributions, and get data from rate my professor.
