Inspiration
Construction sites are fast-paced environments where safety risks and execution issues can easily be overlooked due to time pressure and workload. The idea for this project came from the need to support engineers with a smart assistant that provides quick insights during site inspections.
What it does
Smart Construction AI is an AI-powered assistant that analyzes construction site images or written notes and provides instant feedback. It identifies potential safety risks, common execution issues, and practical recommendations to help engineers make better on-site decisions.
How we built it
We used Google AI Studio with Gemini’s multimodal capabilities to prototype the solution. The model analyzes visual and textual inputs from construction sites and generates structured observations and recommendations in real time.
Challenges we ran into
One of the main challenges was keeping the solution simple while still demonstrating meaningful use of AI. Another challenge was ensuring the feedback remained practical and relevant to real construction scenarios.
