The inspiration behind Smartconnect stemmed from a desire to revolutionize the healthcare experience, bridging the gap between patients and doctors using advanced technology.
What it does
Smartconnect is a comprehensive web application that facilitates doctor-patient interactions, enabling appointment scheduling, AI-based diagnoses, secure communication, and seamless sharing of medical records for efficient and accurate healthcare delivery.
How we built it
We built Smartconnect using a full-stack approach. The front-end was developed using Next Js, Redux/Thunk, Axios, and Framer-motion. For the back-end, we employed Flask, Numpy, Pandas, Scikit-learn (GaussianNB, RandomForest, SVC), NodeJs, JWT, Sequelize, Express, and Socket IO. MySQL was used as the database.
Challenges we ran into
Integrating multiple technologies posed a significant challenge during development. Ensuring seamless communication between various components while maintaining security and efficiency was a complex task. Additionally, refining the AI diagnosis algorithms for accuracy was a continuous challenge.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're immensely proud of creating a platform that streamlines healthcare interactions. Achieving a functional, user-friendly interface, successful integration of AI diagnosis, and ensuring secure doctor-patient communication were major accomplishments for us.
What we learned
Throughout the development process, we learned the intricacies of integrating diverse technologies. We also gained insights into refining AI algorithms for medical diagnosis and the importance of robust security measures in healthcare applications.
