Inspiration

Daily traffic congestion affects many employees, especially those who commute long distances. I noticed that even when people leave early, unexpected traffic can cause delays and unfair attendance penalties. This inspired me to think about a fairer system that considers real commuting challenges.

What it does

Smart Commute Fairness is a concept for an attendance adjustment system. It uses real-time traffic conditions and commuting distance to provide flexible check-in windows, helping employees avoid penalties caused by circumstances beyond their control.

How I built it

This project is currently at the idea and concept stage. The focus was on identifying the problem, defining the users, and designing a practical and fair solution that organizations could integrate into existing attendance systems.

Challenges I ran into

One challenge was balancing fairness with company policies. Another challenge was designing a solution that is simple, practical, and scalable without requiring complex technology at the early stage.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I am proud of clearly defining a real-world problem and proposing a human-centered solution that improves employee well-being and workplace fairness.

What's next for Smart Commute Fairness

Next steps include validating the idea with users, exploring traffic data integration, and developing a prototype in collaboration with technical teammates.
