Inspiration
From experience, I view shopping as a time-consuming and annoying chore. When I go shopping with my family, I spend hours just circling a store, looking for an item. Often, just to realize that the store doesn't even have that item in stock! Thus, the Smart-Cart aims to enhance the average shopping experience by making it more efficient and easier.
What it does
The Smart-Cart allows users to check the availability and the exact location of a certain item in the store. T
How we built it
The Smart-Cart runs on an Arduino Uno R3. Additionally, we have used an LCD display, potentiometers, and buttons.
Challenges we ran into
One major challenge we ran into was ensuring the circuit is well-connected and organizing the circuit such that it perfectly fits into the shopping cart. Our original design had only one button for selecting something or going back. However, we changed our design to have two separate buttons to make it easier to use.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
One accomplishment we are proud of is that the Smart-Cart is a really innovative idea that has the potential to help people everywhere.
What we learned
We learned how to work with circuits and LCDs.
What's next for Smart-Cart
We plan to increase the size of the screen to be able to provide more information on the products shown on the screen
