Inspiration

As students at UMD, we often struggle with time management. Professors often have important dates and due dates in many different places. This allows students to have all of their tasks on one website.

What it does

Smart Calendar turns schedules into personal action plans. Students simply populate the site with their classes, upcoming tasks/ assignments. From there, Google’s Gemini AI automatically builds a study schedule based on free time, priorities, and deadlines. The resulting plan is displayed in Smart Calendar. We also envision seamless Google Calendar integration planned for the future.

How we built it

We used HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to handle user inputs and outlined a schedule.

Challenges we ran into

  • Connecting API key
  • Creating an Intuitive User Interface
  • Creating a table ## Accomplishments that we're proud of
  • Creating a table by extracting data from a JSON file
  • User-Friendy User Interface _ Utilizing Google Gemini's planning and organizational capabilities. ## What we learned We learned how to work as a team and work in parallel. It was challenging for us to coordinate our tasks, but once we figured that out, it was really easy for us to implement our project piece by piece. ## What's next for Smart Calendar Expanding it into Google Calendar. We want users to be able to take the calendar made from our site, and be able to implement it in Google Calendar.
