"Hi everyone! I’m excited to introduce the Smart Buy Optimizer, a browser extension that brings AI-powered insights directly to your online shopping experience. Now, while Google Chrome’s Gemini Nano isn’t available in this demo, our extension replicates the same functionality using modern AI technologies, and in production, we can easily replace it with Gemini Nano APIs.

Here’s how it works. As you browse a product, the extension predicts short-term price changes using lightweight machine learning models. It then gives you actionable advice — whether to buy now or search for better deals. It also analyzes reviews, detecting suspicious patterns and calculating a trust score so you can quickly see if the product is reliable.

Images are analyzed too — the extension checks for quality issues and even flags stock photos, helping you avoid misleading listings. And we don’t stop there. It automatically compares prices with competitors, like Amazon and Flipkart, so you always know where to get the best deal.

The extension is personalized. Based on your preferences, budget, and brand interests, it computes a Personalized Buyer Score, giving recommendations tailored just for you. It also sends notifications for price drops, competitor offers, or suspicious reviews, and your dashboard tracks how much you’ve saved over time.

Everything runs locally in your browser — no data leaves your device, ensuring privacy while keeping performance fast and reliable. The tech stack includes React and Tailwind for the UI, TensorFlow.js and ONNX.js for AI processing, and local storage for caching product and user data.
