Smart Bin

We plan to reduce food waste by doing a smart bin which can detect the changes in height in the bin when food is being piled up and the amount to pay is then calculated by the bin itself.

We saw a lot of people in buffet restaurants wasting foods

Automatically calculates the amount of food wastage

How we built it

We built in using simple arduino

Challenges we ran into

RFID scanner could not work for us and therefore we needed to find an alternative

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of our smart bin able to detect the changes of food that is thrown inside in real time

What we learned

We learned to integrate different components of arduino to make them into a fine system

What's next for Smart Bin

We plan to make it more nice looking and also to be able to read the card balance when the user taps on our RFID tag
