Inspiration

In the whole project I was very much focused and inspired towards the end result just because i was excited enough to reach the final result. Also, our mentor helped us throughout this project which made us to complete this within the stipulated time.

What it does

The Main Purpose Of This System Is To Help The Patients, Primarily Seniors, Take Their Medications On Time In An Easy Way Without The Possibility Of Missing Pills, Also Reduce The Risk Of Over Or Under Dosing Accidentally. Not Taking Medications Correctly Can Have Serious Consequences Such As Delayed Recovery, Illness And Even Death. The Smart Medicine Dispenser Could Solve Such Problems By Informing And Alerting The Patients To Take The Appropriate Dose At The Right Time. Also, It Provides Direct Communication Between The Patients And The Caregivers As It Will Immediately Notify The Caregiver In Case The Patient Missed His/ Her Pill.

How we built it

With The Help Of The Web Application With A Nice Friendly User Interface, The Doctor Can Configure Up To 4 Different Pills For Each Smart Medicine Dispenser And Will Select Up To 3 Intakes Per Day For Each Pill. This Allows The Doctor To Change The Dosage Remotely Whenever Is Needed Without The Intervention Of The Patient Itself. Smart Medicine System Has Been Designed Taking Into Account The Difficulties That A Patient With Senile Dementia, Alzheimer Or Visual Or Audible Impairments Can Have. For This Reason, The Dispenser Has A Large Format Screen That Will Allow The Patient To Fill The Pills In A Comfortable Way As Well As An Audible And Light Feedback That Will Remind The Patient To Take The Pills Just At The Right Time.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

After committing several errors while the runtime of programs, we were able to reach at the final result with the proper functioning of the cabinet. Also while handling the components we were thoroughly experienced as we know where we went wrong again and again. hence, we got a deeper and clearer idea of handling such IoT based components.

What we learned

some of the major things which we got to know while coming across this project are as follows- --we learnt more about Arduino language and its functioning --towards the end we came to know about all the working tools required --time management proved to be a major thing which we learnt in order to complete it on time --consistent errors were the things which taught us to keep ourselves inspired to the end result.

What's next for Smart Automatic Medicine-Dispenser

In order to make this cabinet more human friendly, we are looking to add more features like the under mentioned in Smart Medi Dispenser 2.0- --user friendly interface to make it more efficient for people irrespective of their ages --to make this cabinet available everywhere with the doctors which will eliminate the process to prescribe medicines in small packets --to make it handy so that we are able to carry it anywhere easily --make it more easy for children to take pills on time
