Inspiration
Last week, I made another arduino project which won me a prize in a hackathon. I was really inspired and as a robotics enthusiast, I decided to get my hands dirty with another Arduino robotics project. So, i decided to make an obstacle avoiding robot using Arduino UNO.
What it does
The robot can prevent obstacles on its way and navigate through the obstacles. With the help of its three ultrasonic distance sensors, it can detect and avoid the obstacles on its three sides. The robot does not collide with the obstacles on its front and sides.
How we built it
I built it using an Arduino UNO, 3 Ultrasonic sensors, 2 DC motors, L298n motor driver, breadboard.
Challenges we ran into
The algorithm for the use of three ultrasonic sensors at the same time seemed quite difficult at the beginning while I was making the initial plans, but then I got it shorted out.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The robot is smart to prevent obstacles on its way and guide its way.
What we learned
I have been revisiting my Arduino skills for last few weeks. This weekend, I got to work on this deadline oriented project and learned some new things. This was a great weekend hack for me.
What's next for Smart Arduino Obstacle Avoiding Robot
I will try to improve this robot for using it in maze solving skills.
