Inspiration
There's nothing worse than having to leave that 10-20min buffer when you travel. Life is unpredictable, but with Smart Alarm you're better prepared and have more time for the things that matter.
What it does
The user initializes the device with the commute route from their home to work. Then the day of, an hour before their alarm goes off, Smart Alarm begins to check if there are any delays in their schedule; if there are it will adjust the user's alarm so you can wake up on time.
How we built it
We used google maps API to grab the traffic times before the alarm goes off. We programmed our hack in python and used a Dragon Board 410c to display the reason for the delay to the user.
Challenges we ran into
There were some difficulties with the hardware, but after swiping some parts out we were able to get it functioning.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We accomplished the hack we set out to do and learned something new.
What we learned
We learned more about google APIs and Dragon Boards.
