📌 About the Project
💡 Inspiration
Many college portals are static, hard to navigate, and slow in responding to student queries. Students often struggle to find information about academics, events, deadlines, and services. This inspired us to build a Smart AI Web Application on the College Portal that provides instant, intelligent, and personalized support.
🧠 What We Learned
Through this project, we learned how to integrate AI models (Gemini) into real-world web applications, design user-friendly interfaces, and structure data for meaningful AI responses. We also improved our understanding of prompt engineering, frontend-backend communication, and ethical AI usage.
🛠️ How We Built It
The project was built as a web application using HTML, CSS, JavaScript for the frontend and an AI API for intelligence. The portal allows users to ask questions in natural language, and the AI processes the query to deliver accurate responses related to college data. The system is designed to be scalable and modular.
⚙️ Challenges Faced
Key challenges included handling ambiguous user queries, ensuring accurate AI responses, and maintaining a smooth UI/UX. Integrating AI while keeping response times low was also challenging. We addressed these by refining prompts, optimizing logic, and iterative testing.
📈 Outcome
The result is a smart, accessible, and efficient college portal that enhances the student experience by reducing manual effort and improving information accessibility.
