Inspiration

We were inspired by the resilience of NYC small business owners in the past 5 years. With ever-increasing rent, it has been harder and harder to run a business in the city, but many New Yorkers still do! We wanted to build a tool to enpower our community to do what they do best while our app handles the heavy lifting that otherwise would be time consuming.

What it does

Given a business "focus" or goal, our product will generate a list of regulations (out of all possible NYC regulations on businesses) to find the list of compliances most relevant to the small business, so entrepreneurs do not have to worry about irrelevant detail!

How we built it

The front-end is built with Svelte and the backend was made with Python's Fast API. To determine the list of relevant regulations, we used Dedalus Lab's python-integrated SDK. To store the list of regulations, we used the Snowflake API to create databases, schemas and tables.
