Inspiration

The inspiration was studies that say that Earth is getting polluted day by day. Another inspiration was also the 2015 movie, The Martian.

What it does

It helps create a sustainable environment in which scientists can live (on the "surface" of Mars) and can perform hands-on research of the planet, allowing humans to gain knowledge about the possibility of settling there.

How we built it

We utilized Minecraft and Tinker CAD as quick 3d modelling and we sketched and wrote down notes to help with the building process

How Harsh built the robot was first he attached and coded the LCD display. Following that he created the structure for the robot and hot glued the servo motors. As he continued he attached many parts and coded each mode one by one. In the end he tested it and he tweaked it many times.

Challenges we ran into

Challenges we went into is when making the prototype one servo motor was not strong enough to hold the water so we added two. Also when creating the time mode, it was very difficult because it involved using many loops which when trying to troubleshoot was very difficult. Also trying to troubleshoot for the circuit was very difficult since there were many components and several wires.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Learning how to make water :)

What we learned

We learned how to use different 3d modeling platforms, we also learned 3d modeling. We learned more about has, how to make water, oxygen, how life is like in space, how dangerous Mars can be, and Minecraft mechanics.

What's next for Project Aris

We are going to create a game, that simulates life on Mars. It will be about making your own base and see if it would survive the obstacles on Mars.
