About the Project
I built SlipsHQ because it was a product I personally wanted. I spend quite a bit each month on supplements, and I realized there wasn’t an easy way to check if the ones I was buying were actually good. Some apps I tried were okay, but most were either incomplete or relied only on AI without showing real evidence.
That’s what inspired me to make SlipsHQ a tool where I could scan or search a product and quickly see the information I actually cared about.
What I Learned
The biggest lesson was just how messy supplement data is. Public sources don’t always line up, names are inconsistent, and details are often missing. Turning that into something clean and useful for a user was much harder than I expected.
Challenges
The hardest part was balancing simplicity with depth. I didn’t want the app to feel overwhelming, but I also didn’t want it to feel shallow. Getting that balance right was a big challenge.
Reflection
Building solo can be tough it means handling everything from data to design on your own. But the flip side is you get to create a product you truly want to use yourself.
