Inspiration

We wanted to create a fun puzzle game that would use a creative combination of simple mechanics (buttons, doors, boxes on buttons) to create an engaging experience.

What it does

We currently have a test level that includes a maze and a few buttons that open doors. Slime Time includes custom textures and sprites including a few sprites for features that haven't been implemented yet.

How we built it

We used pygame to build Slime Time.

Challenges we ran into

We had some difficulty coding some game mechanics like collisions and wires, but were eventually able to work together to tackle these problems.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We developed a fully-functional game within 42 hours. The user was allowed to interact with the maps and we created a tutorial that works like other computer games. We are proud that the game is working despite the difficulties we overcame throughout the weekend.

What we learned

We learned more about game development using python and how to use Github to transfer code in a group setting. Also, we learned about organization and file management in projects that exist among multiple machines.

What's next for Slime Time

Adding more levels and fixing some of the bugs in the game. Also, we plan to improve the overall user experience. We plan to add more customizability and options to the game so that the game has a non-linear path.
