Inspiration

I was inspired by the learning aspect of video games. I've played a lot of video games during my life, and in each of the new video games I've played, I've noticed a consistent feature: a tutorial, or at the very least, a how-to-play and an ease into any difficulty you may encounter while keeping it fun. For many kids, the problem with school is that it's hard and boring. Would video games not be the perfect counter to that?

What it does

It is a game that is intended to cover all of high school chemistry. Through its game format, and while avoiding test-like problems like text-based multiple-choice questions, it engages people of all kinds into continuing playing the game and learning more.

How we built it

The Godot game engine.

Challenges I ran into

Not only am I a solo developer, I'm a perfectionist, so I really want to make the GUI look nice. After wasting a lot of time, I had to give up on minute details to get the demo properly up and running.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The game has really nice art, at least by my standards. Honestly, I wish I could've added shaders.

What we learned

Using Godot GUI elements, utilizing AI to create JSON files for storage of things like the periodic table's element's names.
