Inspiration

I was basically fed up with the arcane PowerPoint site and its overall antideluvian user interface and thought that I could make a way better site than this.

What it does

This is a new and intuitive presentation editor site, which can easily replace the conventional powerpoint. It provides a manageable hierarchy and characteristic bar. It's a very crude representation of what could be in a later version, but it evidently shows the potential of such site.

Speaking of the site itself, it basically renders and helps modify and edit a presentation slide in both PDF and HTML format as well as export it. You can also download and install custom plugins on the site.

How we built it

I used the VueJS framework to make the site. The frontend is mainly VueJS and the backend is MongoDB based.

Challenges we ran into

The backend was the hardest thing to make. It was quite hard to synchronise the "aiohttp" library and the MongoDB database.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm pretty much content with the fact that this whole gigantic litanny of code even works.

What we learned

Always write a README or documentary of your own code. This way it would be way easier to go through your own code

What's next for SlideMACHER

Next of is to make more plugins for the site, release the site to the public (perform beta tests) and eventually take down PowerPoint!
