Inspiration

The inspiration behind this project stems from the incredible power that humanity now possesses to empower non-technical individuals. With the advent of advanced language models like Chat GPT, people can harness the expertise of an AI as a teacher and guide, transcending the limitations of their own knowledge and skills.

Imagine a scenario where anyone, regardless of their technical background, can create something useful from their thoughts and ideas alone. This project aims to bridge the gap between the user's ideas and making a tangible product.

This project embodies the democratization of technology, enabling individuals without technical expertise to leverage cutting-edge AI capabilities. With AI, the power of creation becomes accessible to everyone, fostering a world where creativity and information exchange are not limited by technical barriers.

What it does

Through a text box, plug-in users are able to generate and edit google slides with text alone

How we built it

Using chatGPT as the predominant source of information for project plan, steps needed to take, and the code to use. I began by describing to chatGPT what I wanted to build and how I wanted it to work. This took continuous querying and iteration on the steps of the plan, the different resources needed, and code to enable this.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was my lack of understanding how the systems used interacted as well as the code it took. Most of the time was spent trying to understand what was needed and why. I still have only a slight understanding of what is happening and how this is working.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm so proud and impressed that I was able to get anything to work. This is a testament to how powerful this nascent technology is and even more so, the greater potential it has.

What we learned

This reinforced my belief that we are just in the beginning stages of a huge leap in technology and its almost terrifying as to how quickly and drastically society will be changing in the coming years.

What's next for SlideGPT

This was a case study for how a completely non-technical person with the most limited knowledge of coding and development can create something that can actually be used in a short amount of time. I will not be developing slideGPT further but this has reinforced my confident in my path forward to build something awesome with the technology we have at hand.
