Inspiration🎥📚
We were sitting and planning for making something to the theme project and one of our friend pitched an idea of making "Cam Slider" and then we started collecting resources for making our project.
What it does ❓🆕💰
It is a Camera Slider that can be used to capture footages like parallax, Push-in, Pull, side-side and so on. Its Features includes:
- Easy to Carry
- Adjustable Speed
- It can capture footage twice its length i.e It is 30 cm and it can capture 60cm footage with tripod stand.
How we built it 🔧🔨🧰
First we built necessary 3d printed model on Fusion 360 and we used an Nema Stepper Motor(brought from scrap photocopier machine), Linear Bearings, Limit Switch to make the actual physical device and normal Switch to On and Off the Slider.Arduino nano is used for programming and drv8825 motor driver for driving the stepper motor.

Challenges we ran into🏃♂️
We had trouble while 3d printing because there was electricity cut-off time to time while printing and we had to resume time and again for the parts. Also, we had to throw away the old filament as it was not melting properly on 3d printer.
Accomplishments that we're proud of🏆🏅
We are really enjoying the device we built and taking some cool shots through the device. We had a lot of fun staying and building this project whole night and the final result was really awesome and it increased our mutual understanding and got to know each other better.
What we learned🧠
Though the entire project was complete package of new things and we had learn many things but one new thing that we learned and happy to know was that we didn't got NEMA stepper motor on hobby electronics as due to lockdown there was not imports and we searched alternatives and came to know that PhotoCopier Machines has stepper motors😉 and we went to scrap yard and fortunately found photcopier to scrap the stepper motor.
What's next for Cam Slider⏭
Due to time limitations, we could not add other features that we had planned but we are planning to add hc05 module along with the slider so that we can manually control over it via mobile and also planning to build separate controller for this device.
