Inspiration
We wanted to make sense of pizza sales using real data and give restaurants a tool to forecast demand and plan better.
What it does
SliceSight lets users upload pizza sales data and instantly view trends and summaries through interactive graphs. It checks for proper formatting and helps businesses visualize their performance.
How we built it
We used React and Tailwind for the front end, and Python for checking the uploaded data. The app validates CSV files and feeds clean data into dynamic dashboards.
Challenges we ran into
Ensuring uploaded files had the correct format Syncing front-end components with back-end logic Designing intuitive error messages and layout flow
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Built a working file upload and validation system Created a clean, responsive dashboard Developed modular front-end components quickly
What we learned
How to handle real-world data inputs in a web app How to bridge front-end and back-end logic effectively How to build fast and iterate during a hackathon
What's next for SliceSight
Add forecasting models, comparison with industry benchmarks, and automatic insight generation for smarter decision-making.
