Inspiration

I love creating new pizza creations but lack to remember the best matching ingredients when friends come over and also have ingredients left over and wonder what I can create with them. Therefore I wanted to have an app saving my best creations, getting inspired by the community and using AI to bring together my ideas with my fridge.

What it does

It serves as your personal and community cookbook and has smart ways of extending it by taking photo, text or voice input and turning that into an interesting pizza recipe. As pizza offers such a wide range of different flavours you can basically use it every day.

How we built it

The App was built with flutter using Claude Code as a supporting tool. I started with a minimal product and distributed it along friends to test it and further enhance the functionality and prompting to make it efficient in creating great, creative recipes without going too wild.

Challenges we ran into

Generic system prompts for a wide variety of use cases while safeguarding the application to only work for the intended use case. Also making it visually nice looking and easy to use.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The design which is clean, colourful, but also helps the user to understand the functionality quickly without explanation.

What we learned

Start with very small functionality and built more and more features incrementally. Go into the code yourself and fix things instead of just prompting. It improves your understanding of the application and you can improve it much better.

What's next for SliceLense

Public launch, testing of the Pro subscription and extension to creator profiles.
